The high point of Glacier's cliff-hugging road at 6,646 feet. Vehicle size limits apply, and reservations may too.
Logan Pass sits at 2,026 m (6,646 ft) on the Continental Divide and is the highest point reached by the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park. It is named after Major William R. Logan, the park's first superintendent. From here the Highline Trail runs along the Garden Wall, known for its summer wildflowers; mountain goats are often seen in summer. A seasonal visitor center stands just east of the pass.
The road over the pass is usually open from mid- to late June until mid-October. In summer 2026, parking at Logan Pass was limited to three hours from July 1 to September 7, and a shuttle ticket was needed for longer stays (as of October 2026); rules change, so check the park's website before you go. Between Avalanche Creek and Rising Sun, vehicles longer than 6.4 m (21 ft) or wider than 2.4 m (8 ft) are not allowed. Parking is easier to find early in the day; allow two to three hours.
