How places get on the map
Every place is chosen by an editor. Editor’s picks, marked with a star, are the ones we would drive a long way to see. We don’t accept payment for placement.
How we check the route guides
Each in-depth route guide is written by an editor and then checked against current sources: official pages of parks, municipalities, toll and ferry operators, transport authorities and the campsites themselves. The month of the last check is shown on every guide.
What we cannot confirm is worded as such. Fees, opening dates, closures and access rules change often, and details of campsites and motorhome stopovers come from operators and OpenStreetMap and are not checked on site. Please check before you travel.
