Temple of Olympian Zeus

History

Begun around 520 BC and finished under Emperor Hadrian, this colossal Corinthian temple has fifteen columns still standing and a sixteenth lying where it fell in 1852. It sits about 500 metres southeast of the Acropolis, with the Arch of Hadrian at its corner.
