Natural Bridges Viewpoint

A viewpoint over collapsed sea arches in a narrow cove on the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor. The main view is a few minutes from the pull-out; the paths beyond the railing are steep and eroded.
Natural Bridges is in the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor on Oregon's south coast, north of Brookings. Seven striking sea arches and blowholes line the shore here, shaped by the surf. A short trail leads from the parking area to the viewpoint; a memorial honors Dr. Samuel Dicken, who conceived the Oregon Coast Trail.
The small parking lot on Highway 101 fills up quickly on summer weekends, so in summer arrive early in the day. In fall and winter, storm waves and soft light create a special mood. Stay behind the railings: the cliffs are unstable, the routes down to the shore are steep, unmarked and slippery, and unpredictable waves are dangerous.
