Nardis waterfall

Carisolo, Italy

Nature

A broad waterfall plunging over granite at the mouth of the Val Genova. In high summer the valley road is restricted and shuttle buses run from Carisolo.

The Nardis Falls plunge more than 130 m down a dark rock face, inclined at 55 to 65 degrees, at the entrance to the Val Genova. The stream is fed by the Presanella glacier, and at the bottom the water joins the Sarca. The waterfall belongs to the municipality of Giustino and lies within the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park.

A road leads from Carisolo into the Val Genova. From the Ponte Verde car park, the viewpoints are a few minutes' walk away. In summer, access is regulated (toll, time slots, numbered parking); in high season spaces are scarce and booking online is recommended. The Val Genova Express shuttle also runs, with compulsory reservation (as of October 2026: 2026 season from mid-June to mid-September). If you have more time, follow the waymarked Sentiero delle Cascate (B01) along the Sarca to more waterfalls. The falls carry the most water in spring and can freeze into a wall of ice in winter; whether the road is passable then depends on road and snow conditions.
