Before you go

  • A free shuttle runs the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive for much of the year, and private cars aren't allowed on it then.
  • Angels Landing needs a permit from a lottery.
  • The Narrows is a hike up the river itself. Check the flow and flash-flood forecast first.

Planning

Stay in Springdale and walk to the pedestrian entrance to skip the parking lots. The Zion–Mount Carmel Highway tunnel has size limits, and large RVs need an escort for a fee.

Do I need a reservation to enter Zion?

Park entry has not needed a timed reservation in recent seasons, but some hikes need permits. Check nps.gov/zion before you go.
