Sedlo Pass

The high point of the Durmitor ring road at about 1,900 m, below the peaks of Bobotov Kuk. The road is narrow and unfenced, and usually closed from November to May.
Sedlo Pass reaches 1,907 m and is regarded as the highest road pass in Montenegro. It lies on the Durmitor Ring, a loop of about 76 km that starts and ends in Žabljak, the highest town in the Balkans. From the pass there are views of Lake Valovito Jezero and the rock formation of Stožina; hikes to peaks such as Bobotov Kuk also start here.
The road is paved throughout but narrow and winding, in places only one lane wide and in stretches without guardrails. Drive carefully and watch out for motorhomes and motorbikes coming the other way in summer. Because of winter snow, the road is passable only from about late May to October; snow may still lie in late spring. The narrow road is poorly suited to larger motorhomes (one source advises vehicles under 7 m in length); check conditions in advance.
