A viewpoint 300 m above Bighorn Lake in Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, reached just over the Montana line on paved WY-37 north of Lovell. Wild horses from the Pryor Mountain range are often seen along the same road.
Devil Canyon Overlook lies within Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area and looks down about 300 m (1,000 ft) to Bighorn Lake. You can see where Bighorn Canyon and Devil Canyon meet, with colorful, winding canyon walls, and take in the reservoir, which is about 110 km (70 miles) long. The Bighorn Mountains can be seen in the distance. Light and color on the cliffs change over the course of the day; early morning and evening are good times to visit.
The overlook sits on a well-paved, signed side road north of the Horseshoe Bend turnoff. There is a marked parking area, and the walk to the viewpoint is short. The southern part of the canyon runs through the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range, and wild horses can often be spotted from the road. The view is worthwhile year-round, but the weather changes with the seasons.
